Our History
IBC - Nice began in February, 1995. It started with missionaries Roy and Janet Miller meeting on Sunday evenings and now averages 50-60 people of up to 25 nationalities in worship services. This inner city ministry is composed of mostly singles, but also has professionals, students, refugees, homeless, and the unemployed. The church utilizes a mid-week prayer meeting and Bible Study to strengthen its people spiritually. Also, one of its primary ministries through the years has been to teach the English as a Second Language program using the gospel of Mark as its core curriculum. Since the Miller's retirement in May 2004 Frank and Kathy Iovieno took the pastoral role. In August 2007, Tom Gautier and his wife Judy took the interim pastoral role through July 2008. James Arnold and his wife Jen have taken the pastoral role in August 2008.
IBC - St. Paul, the most visited hill-top village in France, was begun as an attempt to reach the English-speakers of the region around this beautiful village. It began in June 1997 with Southern Baptist missionaries Roy and Janet Miller and a group of volunteers from the US lending their support. Bruce Mewbourne pastored the church for two years. Brad Gilliland then pastored the church from June 2002 until June 2004 and Rev. Jon Vermilion was pastor from September 2004 until July 2006. Rev. Frank Iovieno then served as Interim Pastor until July 2007. In August 2007, Tom Gautier and his wife Judy took the interim pastoral role through July 2008. James Arnold and his wife Jen have taken the pastoral role in August 2008.
The church is made up of many nationalities and many professionals who live and work in the area. There are many families who attend the church, which means lots of children! It is a casual, friendly church whose focus is on Christ and the difference He can make in our everyday lives. The church has recently completed a major re-construction project and has about 40 in attendance.
